In the trenches

Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least! As a stay at home mother I have taken on the duties of cleaning, cooking, shopping and yes the laundry. I wish I could say I was a Joan clever. Cleaning my home in a perfectly pressed and starched blouse with a skirt topped with a hand embroidered apron, a pair of modest pumps, not a hair out of place set to perfection. , and My makeup applied flawlessly! Oh but that would be hollywood and so not me! Instead I have a baby on my hip, still wearing my sweat pants in the middle of the day, mascara around my eyes. Oh yes, as I fell asleep without washing my face and still have yet to jump in the shower. Because apparently, not only do I not have time to always shave, but I no longer have time in the morning to always shower. A 3 pm shower is not an uncommon thing for me. I am barefoot, not in heels, and I wont even go into how my hair looks!

Yesterday while doing my motherly duties, looking the way I do :), I dislocated a rib. You may ask how on earth did you do that Audra? I may answer back "oh I was doing my normal daily regimen of strenuous exercise and I dislocated my rib" but that would be a lie! The truth is I was doing the laundry! Yes that is right the laundry! Who pops a rib out of place while doing the laundry lol? Me. Let me tell you I did not feel very well after this unfortunate event happened. Taking a deep breath was near impossible! Molly thought it was great watching me try and get my body back together. :) First attempt touching my toes. Second attempt downward dog. Third attempt rolling around on the floor like a potato bug. Fourth attempt trying to convince molly to sit on my back. Not a smart thing to ask of a two year old! FYI... DO NOT ask your two year old to sit on your back while injured. Lets say it did not go well. After resolving the fact that I could not fix myself I took a motrin, called my husband to come home, and called Jason Young who is an amazing chiropractor! Thank goodness for the both of them. So here's to accepting circumstances and asking for help. I am pretty sure G-D knows I need it!

Ok yes it is true I do not always shave! who has time! I am mother to 3 children 5 and under. I told my husband the title of my new blog and his first response was" Audra that is really gross". Hmm I don't know I kinda like it Fred. I am not one of those mothers who have it all together. I feel like sometimes I have everything held together with bubblegum and shoestrings :). Thank goodness for bubblegum and shoestrings :)! On a side note. I went to the Marine Corps ball last week and I did manage to shave for that! Well at least to the knee ;).
